LinkedIn Ads 3 Big Red SEOIn our last installment, our SEO experts here at Big Red SEO gave you some tips and tricks for optimizing your LinkedIn Ad, as well as went over the associated costs of the program.

In order to take your ad a step further, today we’ll have a look at steps to take after you’ve launched your LinkedIn Ad campaign to keep you on the right track to increased traffic and positive ROI!

    Tracking Your LinkedIn Ads

Thinking back to your school days, it was always a good idea to check your work before you turned it in. In the case of managing any ad campaign, at Big Red SEO we also recommend following up on the campaign after it’s been running. This will help you to make an educated decision about what to change (if anything) and how often.

Unfortunately, LinkedIn doesn’t offer conversion tracking at this time, so our Omaha SEO team created these steps to help you determine what your ad is doing via Google Analytics.

    • Always Set Goals in Advertising
From Settings, go to Profiles and then Goals, and add a goal. It’s easiest for this process to set up a “URL destination” goal—this means that the goal triggers when a user lands on a page you specify after converting.
    • Be Sure to Cross-reference Traffic Sources with Goals
At Big Red SEO, we recommend that you create a unique URL for each ad you run, just so you can isolate ad-level conversion data; that is, traffic to your site that comes directly from visitors those who clicked on your LinkedIn ad.
    • Analyze Engagement Metrics Often
These statistics include time on site, pageviews, bounce rate, and other measures that provide a document of visitor behavior on your site. These metrics are amazing, as they can give you a very good idea of what’s working and what isn’t when it comes to your LinkedIn ad. For instance, if you regularly see a time on site of under a minute, this can imply a number of things—that your offer isn’t compelling, your landing page isn’t attractive enough, or maybe that your ad copy attracts visitors but there’s something else down the line that keeps them from converting. At Big Red SEO, we recommend using these statistics as they are a very valuable resource for tweaking strategies that aren’t working and sticking with those that are.

I Don’t Have to Outrun the Lion; Only You!

There’s an old joke about two guys who are walking through an African game reserve when they stumble upon a lion. One of the men calmly puts down his backpack and then takes off running. The other man yells, “You’ll never outrun that lion!” to which the other man responds, “I don’t need to outrun the lion; I just need to outrun you!” I’m sure you’ve heard it told a lot better, but you get the idea. Search Engines are the same way. Our job at Big Red SEO is to help various businesses outrank their competitors. We’re not trying
