    A KEI is one activity you should be performing quite often. In a nut shell, KEI stands for Keyword Effectiveness Index. It helps point out which keywords are the most effective and valuable.

    The Keyword Effectiveness Index will point out which keywords have the higher searches versus the lower ranking competition (i.e. the most effective words for your Omaha Search Engine Optimization Campaign). The ultimate keyword will have a KEI ranking of 1.0 and above. The higher the KEI, the more chances your site will rank for the word

    Targeting the Correct Keywords

    A high KEI does not guarantee an increase in traffic that will convert into sales. Someone might access a main website page to get to the blog page versus using the blog login page. This is very common, as the URL for a homepage is easier to remember. This can cause a fluctuation in the report, as the results show a high level of traffic on the main page. But not all the visitors to the main site have the intention of buying a product. Instead, they take the easiest shortcut to get where they are going. Arm yourself by knowing what a client is searching for so you can target the correct keywords.

    If you go from page 500 to page 100 in search results, be sure to pat yourself on the back. That is a great accomplishment with hard work involved. To go from page 100 to 50, or page 3 to page 1 can possibly include more work.  Increasing rank could become harder and take more time to achieve, especially if you are going against a big competitor that might have a full time SEO team on staff.
