Google has recently come out with yet another algorithm update called the “Hummingbird.” Hummingbird will help to narrow your searches to even more specific outcomes. Google says it is called Hummingbird because it is “precise and fast.” Instead of just focusing on certain keywords, Google is focusing on every word, as a phrase, to get better results for the end user.
However, keywords are still important for SEO. For the most part SEO is staying the same, so you shouldn’t be too worried about the changes it may bring. Hummingbird was out for a month before it was announced and no one noticed. Even so, Google says it does in fact affect 90% of search engine results.
Hummingbird may help with your SEO if you add a frequently asked questions section, that way when your potential customer asks your search engine a question, it will find your website and the answers you have to these frequently asked questions. However, you still should use unique content in your website. Search engines do not look too kindly on duplicate content. So you may have to do some thinking and be creative when writing your questions and answers. There are always new things to say when the world is constantly changing.
Some people have been worried that the new Hummingbird algorithm is going to affect the PageRank algorithm. It is not. For those that do not know about PageRank, Google explains it as
